Stats

From newspaper reports from the time.

The last of the Scottish League fixtures for this season took place on Cathkin Park, before 5,000 spectators.
The Celts lost the toss and kicked off against a slight breeze. They soon began to press, and had the ball up at the Volunteers goal, where Thomson cleared in fine style. The Celtic forwards then made for the home goal, where McMahon passed the ball over to Campbell, who scored a fine goal ere the game had been five minutes in progress.
The Volunteers came away with a rush, and could not get past the Celtic's backs, who were playing a fine game. Kelly came away in fine style, but was soon stopped by Murdoch, who kicked high over the bar.
No further scoring took place in the first half.
Half-time- result, Celtic, 1 ; 3rd LRV, nil.
On resuming, the home team commenced very auspiciously, but did not manage to keep it up any length of time, then McCallum, from a fine pass by Brady, added a second goal for the strangers.
The Volunteers, not to be done however, began to press a little, but their shooting was of a most erratic description. For the next twenty minutes the play was of a give and take character, but the Celtic forwards by some clever passing scored a third goal from the foot of Campbell.
Nearing the close the game became very fast, and the Volunteers, with a rush, scored their only goal about four minutes from time.
The game ended in favour of the Celtic by 3 goals to 1.
